Hours: 40 hours per week, shift patterns included

Contract Type: Full-time, temporary role initially. Potential permanent post (12-weeks temp to perm will be considered)

Salary: £14-£16 per hour (supply) depending on experience and qualifications


Description:

Manaba is supporting the recruitment of a knowledgeable Early Years Practitioner who will take on the role of Deputy Nursery Manager in a larger than average nursery setting near the centre of Southampton, Hampshire.


The role is full-time, Monday to Friday and you will be required to work shifts as part of staff rota system. Applicants will ideally have previous management or leadership experience, including strong administrative experience and you will be a clear and confident communicator, at all levels.


Responsibilities:

  • Deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager and manage and support the team

  • You will monitor and coordinate the planning systems in-line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators such as capacity numbers, child requirements, business income and expenditure

  • Work closely with the staff to monitor and assess the planning and delivery of activities in all areas of the curriculum and when required, help to alter and improve these for future activities

  • Be familiar with using assessment tools such as Iters and Ecers

  • You will organise, prepare, and regularly review the early years curriculum, ensuring all areas are covered and using evidence-based approaches/practice

  • Actively adhere to and comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures, including risk assessments

  • Champion best practice at all times to support a continually improving setting


Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years and/or Childcare

  • Practical knowledge of Child Protection Procedures

  • Experience of contributing positively to a team within an Early Years setting

  • Reliable and hard working

  • Enhanced Level DBS
